Born into a heritage of faith, her life that began in deep Southwest Georgia was filled with love and encouragement. Searching for God’s will in her life led her to become a student of signed communication in order to become a part of the communities of people who were hard of hearing and deaf. Two years of study prepared her for ministry of interpreting during worship services in her home church. Thus began her life long journey of interaction as an interpreter. She became nationally certified and enjoyed a career with the State of Georgia as a Counselor for the Deaf.
As she shared her prayer “visits” with the Lord with her parents, she was encouraged to write them down to be shared with others. Although they are now with the Lord, their support was paramount in EARS TO HEAR, TALKING WITH GOD IN PRAYER becoming a book.
Shirley resides with her husband in Guyton, GA. She continues to write and speak to congregations and groups as the Lord leads.
